f ( H) Fringe. 2 The wickerwork covering of the mandana or nanda at a sugarmill: also a loose-textured basket answering the same purpose, viz. that of filtering the expressed juice in its passage to the mandana (receiving vessel in a hole in the ground). 3 A circular and shallow tray of basketwork with a border. Used esp. sadyacya divasi or in connection with ṃsade (See sade) to hold lamps, rangaca tambya (pot containing juice of the flowers of palasa &c.), an image of balakrsna &c. This tray is placed on a person's head in order to perform gopa mutavine q. v.ṃ
