Meaning of 'kadata'
m Excess above the forty-sher-maund (weight-maund) given in selling certain articles, e. g. 1½ sher per maund of oil, of tupa, or of gula. kanta is a deduction made, in favor of the adatya, from the akhe or half mpalla, e. g. of 5 sher per akhe of ntupa or of gula, 3½ sher per akhe of oil. In some parts nkadata is an excess of 10½ sher per palla of weight, and kanta is a surplus of 2½ sher, total 13; which, added to 120, the nominal amount of a palla, constitute a pakka palla. In yet other districts there are other differences of the quantities of both kadata & kanta.

In some parts कडता is an excess of 10½ sher per पलà¥à¤²à¤¾ of weight, and कांटा is a surplus of 2½ sher, total 13; which, added to 120, the nominal amount of a पलà¥à¤²à¤¾, constitute a पकà¥à¤•à¤¾ पलà¥à¤²à¤¾.
